Engineering details

Made to follow the existing thread.

A threaded working end with longitudinal flutes clears debris from matching internal threads. The smooth shank provides reach, while the drive flats let you turn the tool by hand with a suitable manual driver.

Made from 4241 high-speed steel for thread-cleaning work.

Longitudinal debris flutes.

Straight flutes interrupt the threaded working section to help clear loosened debris. Back the tool out regularly to clean it.

Start by hand, keep the tool aligned and turn it slowly with a suitable manual driver. Stop and check if it binds. Do not use a drill or impact.

How do I choose the correct size?

Match both metric diameter and pitch in millimetres to the existing hole. This tool is M14 × 2.0. Also check access and the required working depth.

Can this tool cut new threads?

No. It is intended to clean and restore existing matching threads, not create new threads. It does not replace missing thread material.

Can I use a drill or impact driver?

No. The instructions specify controlled manual use. Start the tool by hand and do not force it if resistance increases.

Are a handle, socket or lubricant included?

No. This product includes only the thread chaser listed above. A suitable manual driver and any lubricant are supplied separately.
