36 M12 × 142 mm head studs, 36 nuts, 36 hardened parallel washers and 8 M8 × 97 mm upper-row bolts, with a 5 mm Allen wrench, 10 mm and 16 mm sockets and assembly lubricant.
1 MP881 main-stud kit
10 M14 main studs, 10 nuts, hardened parallel washers and 10 M12 cross bolts, with an Allen wrench, two sockets and assembly lubricant.

Engineering details

Two joints. Defined roles.

Head studs secure the cylinder head to the block. Main studs secure the crankshaft main-bearing caps. Use the hardware and procedure specified for each assembly.

Head hardware

The CP877 kit supplies the head studs and accompanying hardware used to secure the cylinder-head assembly.

Main hardware

The MP881 kit supplies the main studs and accompanying hardware used at the crankshaft main-bearing caps.

The XOTIC 7200 head and main studs in this bundle have a published tensile-strength range of 220,000–240,000 psi. Tensile strength describes the material under tension; it is not an installed clamping-force or horsepower rating.

Do both kits use the same installation procedure?
