6.0L Power Stroke Inner Row Bolt Installation Guide (2003–2007) — CP116
This guide covers installation of the XOTIC PERFORMANCE™ CP116 inner row bolt kit for the 2003–2007 6.0L Ford Power Stroke. Why replace the inner row bolts
When a 6.0L head comes off for studs or a gasket, the small M8 inner row bolts have already survived years of high-pressure, high-temperature duty. The CP116 kit replaces them with ten high-grade M8 bolts and ten precision-machined hardened washers, so every fastener in the joint is fresh hardware torqued to a known preload. It's a small line item on a big job — and one you don't want to reuse.

How to install inner row bolts on a 6.0L Power Stroke
- Inspect first. Before installing any components, check for any product damage and report it to us.
- Clean the block threads. Clean the threads prior to installing the bolts to ensure accurate fitment and precise torque readings. An M8 x 1.25 thread chaser (CS317) makes this fast and protects the threads.
- Degrease the seating surfaces. Using a clean cloth, remove all oil from the washers and from the cylinder head surface where the washers seat. Cleaning debris ensures accurate preloads.
- Install the cylinder head. Inspect for any misalignment.
- Seat the washers — chamfer up. Place the washers on the cylinder head with the inner diameter of the chamfer side facing upward.
- Lubricate. Using the supplied fastener assembly lubricant, coat the bolt threads and the underside of the bolt heads.
- Install the bolts hand-tight. Thread the bolts into the cylinder head as tight as can be made by hand, until they contact the washers.
- Torque in three stages. Torque the bolts to 8 ft-lbs, then 16 ft-lbs, and finally 25 ft-lbs.

Washer orientation matters: seat each washer with the inner diameter of the chamfer side facing up. A flipped washer changes how the bolt head seats and throws off preload.
